The shop will be celebrating its first year of trading in February with a party for the staff and volunteers.  There are still more than 50 volunteers involved.  The shop will feature in Country Living later this year.  Shop manager Samantha de la Querra explains that:
"The impact on volunteers and wider community has been life-enhancing.  A lot of the people didn't know each other before even those that had been living in the village for 25 or 30 years.  For some of the older residents, being a volunteer gives them a reason to leave their homes.  Even those who aren't volunteers often stop by for a natter, and there's alot more stopping and chatting on street corners than there ever was before.  It's really knitted the community together."
