West Oxfordshire Network - Eligibility Criteria

All projects submitted for LEADER+ funding should contain the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Be located in West Oxfordshire
  2. Mainly benefit people living in rural villages or hamlets in the area
  3. Be innovative, in other words it must be a new approach
  4. Complement existing products or services rather than compete against them and potentially harm them.
  5. Be based on a clear community need
  6. Fit in with the West Oxfordshire Network's stated objectives and targets
  7. Demonstrate partnership working and involvement of rural residents
  8. Have clear social, economic and/or environmental benefits
  9. Show that at least 50% of its costs will be met from other sources
  10. Not need further financial support from us once the LEADER+ Programme comes to an end, or, if it does the amount of money required will be minimal.
  11. Be realistically achievable within the time you allow for it
  12. Not receive any other EU funding

When planning a project, ask yourself:

  • Is there already a similar project in West Oxfordshire or elsewhere in the South-East?
  • What is new about your project?
  • How is its approach to identified needs or problems any different from what has been tried before?
  • Are you planning to do things in new ways?
  • Is your organisational structure different?
  • Does your project involve the local community in a different way?
  • Is it promoting a product or service distinct in the area?
  • Is it encouraging better use of existing resources?
  • Is it reducing duplication of effort by linking areas of activity that are traditionally separate?
